The 2021 Peugeot 308 is already in production at the Mulhouse plant in France. This production site is considered the main one and specializes in models of the EMP2 platform. The French carmaker will start accepting orders soon, and Peugeot will deliver the first commercial models by early autumn.
The choice of Mulhouse is not accidental. Prior to Stellantis, French auto giant PSA set aside a massive € 213 million to centralize hybrid technology production. The new Peugeot 308 has already started to roll off the assembly line. The next generation of the compact car was launched with the aim of securing European dealerships and delivering the first units in September.
The French car factory is one of the most modern of Peugeot and Stellantis, a real specialist in the production of the group’s EMP2 models, such as this new 308 based on the third version of the architecture. With its own assembly line, the new 308 also shares a production site with the Peugeot 508, 508 SW and DS 7 Crossback.
The new 308 has received important features aimed at improving efficiency, as well as a radical update that now has a more sophisticated, sporty and futuristic look. The manufacturer simplified the line by offering 3 petrol versions with 110 and 130 hp, diesel with 130 hp. and 2 plug-in hybrid 180 and 225 hp, with 6MKP and 8AKP to choose from.
