Suzuki is working on a new generation of Swift Sport hatchback. The car’s harbinger was due to be shown at the Tokyo Auto Show this fall, which was recently canceled. According to the specialized Japanese media, Suzuki has decided on changes in the technical part of this model. They are planning to be announced soon.
BestCarWeb journalists have already found out what innovations are being discussed. According to them, the new generation Swift Sport will receive the previous 1.4-liter “turbo four” Boosterjet capacity of 140 horsepower, but its power will be increased by installing an electric makeweight. Performance gains have yet to be announced.
In addition, the new Swift Sport is expected to retain the chassis of its predecessor, but boast improved torsional rigidity. This should have a positive effect on its handling at high speeds.
As seen in the unofficial render, the outwardly new generation of Swift Sport will differ from its predecessor in a more aggressive appearance with many sharp body lines.
The premiere of the car is scheduled for May 2023.
