Volkswagen will soon update its Transporter, which will receive minimal changes both outside and inside. Next generation of the legendary microbus, the company is currently in development, but photospin managed to capture the model during the tests.
A novelty noticed on the tests in the Alps paired with its predecessor, which is still sold in Europe. The prototype test experience virtually no camouflage, except for a few centimeters of black tape that hides the true size of the headlights and rear lights.
As you can see from the images, the test car has received some additional equipment, including sensors on the wheel hubs and the test dummies on Board, to simulate driving with a heavy load. I think we’re on a bus with 8-seater configuration, but some of the seats removed to make more space.
Despite the fact that the design of the new Transporter will be virtually the same, the minibus will get a lot of changes to technical terms. The model will work on a modified platform of Volkswagen MQB, which will allow the integration of electrified powertrains. Will be available in front-wheel and all-wheel drive version, and for those who are not interested in electrification, we also expect petrol and diesel engines.
These new photos seem to confirm that the Transporter T7 will soon be officially presented. It is possible that the sales model will start in 2021.
Needless to say that the Transporter remains a product for Europe.
