The pilot of “Formula 1” prepared police “donuts”

The current Formula 1 pilot, winner of the Hungarian Grand Prix 2021, Esteban Ocon, became the protagonist of an unusual commercial. An Alpine F1 team driver delivers the first Alpine A110 utility sports car to the police station. The trip was by no means academic: the French driver was driving sideways on the highway and spinning donuts right in the courtyard of the police station. Alpine emphasizes that the video was filmed on a closed road with a professional driver.

The French National Gendarmerie ordered 26 Alpine A110 mid-engined sports cars, but only two test cars were delivered on New Year’s Eve – they will be used by the police to learn extreme driving and train.

Esteban Ocon tweeted that he has been appointed Chief Driving Instructor, but it is unlikely that an active Royal Race pilot will be able to regularly conduct master classes.

The remaining 24 Alpine coupes with police livery and special signals will enter service in the first quarter of 2022. The authorities said the sports cars are essential for road safety activities on highways and for special operations by the secret police.

A110 sports cars are not yet popular outside France, but the situation may change soon, because the new boss of Renault Luca de Meo has come up with a new strategy for the brand’s development.

Recently, the “formula” team of the French concern is called Alpine, and to promote the brand they began to use the drivers of the “Royal Races” – the rising star of motorsport Esteban Ocon and two-time champion of Formula 1, two-time winner of the “24 Hours of Le Mans” Fernando Alonso.
