Porsche has announced a “future-oriented” concept, which will premiere online on September 6th. The show car will then showcase “cutting edge technology with breathtaking design” live at the IAA Mobility in Munich (September 7-12). The future of Porsche is electric, so so is the concept. The question is which model we are talking about. Hardly about the sport prototype LMDh.
The teaser was posted on Instagram and Twitter. Description:
“For over 70 years, motorsport has been the most challenging testing ground for engineering innovation on the way to mass production. Porsche has followed this path consistently over the years and will continue to do so.
Some media write that the concept got “headlights from Taikan”. The Taycan sedan (pictured) has a different LED Matrix optics: each matrix contains 84 individually controlled LEDs, and the corners are illuminated by the adaptive PDLS + (Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus).
Probably the new show car is directly related to the Cayman & Boxster duo. And at the beginning of his career, Boxter, who is celebrating this anniversary, had yellow-orange sections in the headlights, nicknamed “fried egg” even on the Porsche 996 (1997-2006). Note also that the Mission E prototype (the future Taycan) was revealed in 2015 at the IAA.
