High-performance version of the German hatchback Mercedes A45 AMG will get the engine power up to 416 HP reported a long-awaited novelty will be officially presented in July.
Just a few weeks before the premiere of the so-called “charged” version of hatchback Mercedes A45 AMG, the engineers of the German brand, there are a couple of cases at final debugging of the prototype of the car. It is reported that testing took place on the nürburgring race track. A new spy video gives latest view of the long-awaited car.
A45 in this video is wearing the same camo as other test samples new/updated models of the sports division of the automaker. The car already has a brand for models of the Mercedes-AMG Panamericana false radiator grille with vertical slats. It is worth noting the rear diffuser is larger than that of the less powerful versions of the same car (A35) and four exhaust ports instead of two.
What really makes the upcoming A45 special is its new engine M139, which is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder unit with turbocharging, which develops max power at 7200 rpm.
The engine produces 382 horsepower (480 Nm) as standard. When you install the turbocharger with a pressure of 1.9 bar to 2.1 bar S performance of this powertrain delivers up to 416 HP (500 Nm).
In both cases, as the transmission will be offered 8-speed transmission with double clutch, which sends power to a sophisticated all-wheel drive system. The electronically controlled clutch at each corner of the rear axle is able to control torque at each wheel. The drift mode is also available that allows drivers to effectively enter the managed drifts.
