Photos of the incident that took place at the roundabout of Piazza Polonia in Turin, Italy were published on the Web. The pictures show the prototype of the Maserati Grecale crossover covered with camouflage film. Apparently, the driver of the future novelty lost control, as a result of which he crashed into a post. The tester escaped with a slight fright, but the car was seriously damaged.
The premiere of the new Maserati Grecale crossover was expected on November 16. However, due to the global shortage of semiconductor microchips, it was postponed to the spring of next year. In this regard, Italian experts continue to test various vehicle modifications in urban environments. Another prototype was tested on the roads of Turin.
For unknown reasons, on a roundabout, the crossover driver lost control, flew off the road and crashed into a pole. As a result of the collision, the front of the Grecale was severely damaged. In addition, a Ford car was damaged in an accident.
The new Maserati Grecale will be built on the Alfa Romeo Stelvio platform. It is expected that the new product will be available in gasoline, diesel and hybrid versions. In addition, a fully electric version will be developed for the model. According to experts, the future crossover will be a direct competitor to Porsche Macan, BMW X3 and Mercedes-Benz GLC.
At the end of August it became known that Maserati Grecale will acquire a “charged” version. It is expected that the version called Trofeo, which will compete with the Porsche Macan GTS, will be equipped with a 450-horsepower engine.
