The updated Renault Megane RS Trophy R spotted on the tests

The Renault out on the tests “charged” hatchback Megane with a few design changes.

All the family models of the Renault Megane went through a facelift, and these first spy shots show an updated version of the RS Trophy R, which has similarities with the standard RS Trophy.

The hatchback wears almost no camouflage, and the only thing hiding pieces of blue plastic is part of the grille and fascia. If it’s the Trophy R, it is strange not to see an outstanding hood. This may be due to the fact that the car in these spy shots is a pre-production sample, and Renault wants to keep some secrets secret. Rear lights updated Megane show clearly the portion of the lamp bottom and a couple of round exhaust Trophy R that go from the center of the diffuser.

The existing Megane RS Trophy R is equipped with a 1.8-liter turbocharged engine, its capacity is 296 HP and torque of 400 Nm. Team Renault Sport eased his 130 kg to get rid of the rear seats.

The main changes of the power plant for the updated Trophy R at the moment, remain a mystery. However, the model recently introduced in the Renault lineup after its debut in may. Therefore, the engineers had not had much time to develop high-performance components to make the “charged” Megane even faster.

Also it is not clear when they may debut the updated Megane. According to preliminary information, the model can be presented at the next Geneva motor show, which will take place in March 2020.
