In Miami debuted Genesis GV80 – the first crossover in the line’s luxury sub-brand Hyundai. The model for the Korean market is equipped with a diesel engine, and the American version got two boosted gasoline unit.
For the first time the new system was demonstrated on the 15th of January, the premiere was held in Seoul. The basis of the crossover formed a new architecture with longitudinal engine and rear wheel drive. Suspension – double-wishbone front and multilink rear. It is known that in the future on this platform with the change of generation sedan will move the G80.
For South Korea during the presentation confirmed only one engine: a new 3.0 turbodiesel with a capacity of 278 horsepower with inline layout. With this unit GV80 will be sold at first in the domestic market, while in the United States, the crossover will come with a pair of petrol engines.
For GV80, which will appear in the United States, declared the base 2.5-liter “turboservice” capacity of 305 horsepower and top-end twin-turbo V6 capacity of 3.5 liters, the output of which is 375 horsepower. Both units are combined with vosmidiapazonnoy automatic transmission, rear or all-wheel drive with electronic differential lock.
Dimensions GV80 can be compared with the BMW X5: the length of the car reaches 4945 millimeters in width 1975 mm, height – 1715 mm, and wheelbase is 2955 mm. Among the features of the model – 22-inch wheels that are available in top-end configuration (this is the first Korean car with wheels of this size), and secondly – an airbag that unfolds between the driver and front passenger.
