In Kiev, the fare in the metro and ground public transport will really rise, and at present the issue of establishing a new tariff is being considered by the specialized commissions of the city council of the capital. At the same time, the authorities assured that the fare would not jump for 20 hryvnia.
This was told by the deputy of the Kiev City Council Dmitry Belotserkovets on the air of the program “Kiev: Vgolos”.
According to him, the new ticket prices should be a compromise for both carriers and passengers.
Utility carriers are now operating in negative territory – billions of dollars in losses have to be compensated from the capital’s budget, said the mayor’s advisor.
Belotserkovets emphasizes that, first of all, there should be “a simple and convenient formula for everyone”.
“If the price for fuel and electricity rises, then travel increases. Neither UAH 25, nor UAH 20 – will not be”, – says the deputy.
He also added that currently there is an active discussion among the deputies about what the tariff might be.
