There is no limit to perfection: Ferrari is working on a more productive V12

Not so long ago, Ferrari presented the 812 Competizione and 812 Competizione A with the most powerful V12 with 830 hp. and 692 Nm. However, as it turned out, the company continues to boost the 6.5-liter aspirated engine.

Speaking to Autocar, top manager Michael Leiters said the more powerful twelve-cylinder unit is already in the works, but it is not known which model will get it. Although Ferrari marketing director Enrico Galliera hinted that it would be a road car.

This is where the facts are over and we will have to proceed to assumptions. The first possible contender is the successor to LaFerrari, which should debut in the coming years. It could have an electricity injection in the form of a mild hybrid. The second nominee is Purosangue. The first production crossover is still being tested with modified Maserati Levante bodies. The premiere is not coming soon. The third scenario is an exclusive edition in the same vein as the Monza SP1 and SP2 speedster from the Icona series. At the time of release, they had the most powerful V12 configuration with 810 hp.

Ferrari has more than once announced its intention to keep its most productive engine in service, despite environmental standards. The company still has aces up its sleeve in case of tougher emissions regulations, so we will still be enjoying the mighty atmospheric unit with the NA index in the near future.
