Nissan announced that all 300 examples of the 2022 GT-R Nismo have sold out in just four months from the start of ordering. This sports car differs from the standard GT-R with a body in Nismo Stealth Gray, 20-inch Rays wheels with red edging and a hood made of unpainted carbon fiber. The car is powered by a 600-horsepower V6 engine with two turbochargers, which has been modified.
Nismo engineers replaced piston rings, connecting rods, crankshaft, flywheel, crankshaft pulley and valve springs, with each new part being manufactured to tighter tolerances. Traditionally, the name of the specialist who assembled a particular motor is indicated on a plate under the hood.
Other features of the 2022 GT-R Nismo include Brembo brakes with 410mm rotors at the front and 390mm at the rear, which the automaker claims are the largest in Japanese sports car history.
It is clarified that at checkout, 99 percent of customers chose the GT-R Nismo Special Edition and 50 percent opted for the signature gray body color Nismo Stealthy Gray.
Earlier, there were rumors that the Nissan GT-R will prepare a farewell special version of the GT-R Final Edition by 2022. Most likely, it will receive a motor from a collectible GT-R 50 from Italdesign and an impressive price tag – such a sports car will cost more than a GT-R Nismo. Later, in 2023, the R36 model will debut, and a completely new Nissan GT-R engineered from scratch is likely to appear towards the end of the decade.
