Three metres between the a downs: VW unveils its biggest Talagon crossover

This car was one of the first to be announced before a long-time international auto show.

The Shanghai International Auto Show has started its work. Volkswagen was one of the first to present its novelty – the public was shown the largest SUV in the model range called Talagon. Details are shared by the portal “New Cars”. Talagon dimensions reach 5152x2002x1795 mm, and the distance between the axles is very close to 3 meters – 2 980 mm.

The design is based on the SMV prototype presented two years ago. In the front part, the main feature is the headlights, which have become a continuation of the radiator grill, and the taillights have been combined into a monoblock. We also note the brutal bumpers, which did not come as a surprise, given the status of the car. The interior of the novelty received rich technologies – a modern infotainment complex, an electronic gearbox control selector and an informative digital instrument panel.

There are two different variants of the 2.0-liter turbo engine in the engine range – the power of the first reaches 186 hp, and the second is capable of producing 220 hp. They are combined with the proprietary “robot” DSG. Customers will get a front-wheel drive system as a starting package, and four-wheel drive are available as an option.

The technical equipment and security systems will amaze – 9 airbags, climate control for 3 zones, a spectacular panoramic roof, an automatic collision avoidance system.

Volkswagen Talagon sales in China will begin in China very soon. According to preliminary estimates, a minimum of 300,000 yuan ($ 46,000) will have to be paid for the cross.
