Toyota Motor launched the updated versions of the Corolla Fielder station wagon and the Corolla Axio sedan on September 6.
The focus of the new products is on safety: now proprietary preventive response technology called Toyota Safety Sense is included in the basic equipment of both models – Corolla Fielder and Corolla Axio. It is able to automatically stop the car when an obstacle appears. The system can recognize pedestrians during daylight hours. The second addition is the Conlight light sensor, which is now standard on these models.
It is worth recalling that the Corolla Fielder and Corolla Axio of the current, third generation E160 have been produced since 2012. In 2015, they underwent the first restyling, in 2017 – the second.
According to the speedme.ru edition, in terms of engines, these cars have everything the same. For Corolla Fielder and Corolla Axio, 1.5-liter petrol units 1NZ-FE (103 hp) and 2NR-FKE (109 hp) are available. There is also a hybrid powertrain with a 1.5-liter 1NZ-FXE internal combustion engine (74 hp), operating on the Atkinson cycle. It is paired with a 61 hp electric motor. (45 kW). The drive can be front or full, manual transmission or variator is offered as a transmission.
The cost of the updated Corolla Fielder varies from 1 million 709 thousand 400 yen ($ 15,600) to 2 million 292 thousand 400 yen ($ 20 900), on the Corolla Axio – from 1 million 557 thousand 600 yen ($ 14,200) to 2 million 134 thousand yen ($ 19,400).
