Toyota Hilux 2020 pickups recall due to a rather unusual problem

The Australian division of Toyota announced the start of a service promotion for this model at the local level.

In Australia, the new Toyota Hilux pickup trucks that rolled off the Assembly line between June 1 and August 4, 2020, were recalled. There are 15 cars in total. The reason for the recall was not a manufacturing defect of any car component, as it often happens, but a purely “bureaucratic” moment.

These pickups don’t have matching signs. They are required to confirm that the vehicles meet Australian standards. They were supposed to be installed during local processing at the port.

However, this procedure was not carried out. Now dealers will have to fix this flaw. It will not take more than half an hour to install the matching sign, provided that the dealer is not loaded.

The price of a Toyota Hilux starts at 29,000 Australian dollars ($21,200). The maximum equipped pickup truck will cost 74,000 Australian dollars ($54,100).
