In India, the production of a new budget sedan Toyota has started – the redesigned Suzuki Ciaz, which has become the fifth model of the “collaboration” between Suzuki and Toyota. The first snapshot of the novelty, which should be presented before the end of this year, was published by the local newspaper GaadiWaadi.
The quality and information content of the presented photo leaves much to be desired, but even from it it can be understood that the front of the future Toyota sedan will completely repeat the “donor”. The only exceptions are chrome stripes, which have made the lower grille a little brighter and more noticeable.
The new Toyota sedan will also share all the technical “stuffing” with the prototype from the Suzuki brand. He will get a 105-horsepower petrol “four” with a working volume of 1.5 liters, which is equipped with a compact starter-generator that recuperates energy during braking. The range of transmissions will be presented by the already familiar 5-speed manual transmission, as well as a 4-speed “automatic”.
The Toyota novelty will most likely be released only in expensive versions: in this sense, Toyota will follow the example of the Glanza hatchback and the Urban Cruiser crossover. The debut of the new Toyota four-door is expected this year. First, the sedan will enter the Indian market, where it will compete with donor Suzuki Ciaz and Hyundai Verna, and then, most likely, it will be brought to Africa and other countries of Southeast Asia.
