Japanese Corporation Toyota has introduced a hybrid racing car Toyota GR010.
More importantly, the GR010 hypercar announces its road variant, the Toyota GR Super Sport, which was first shown at the opening of the 88th Le Mans circuit de la Sarthe.
According to the Japanese company, the race car itself was developed in Germany for 18 months, and the electric hybrid unit was developed in Japan.
The novelty is equipped with a power plant consisting of a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine with a capacity of 670 HP and a 268-horsepower electric motor. As for the GR010’s dimensions, it is 250 mm longer, 100 mm wider and 100 mm taller than its predecessor, the TS050 LMP1. It is also heavier, weighing 1,040 kg.
Toyota, apparently, is currently developing a road version of its hybrid racing car. It is assumed that such a car will appear in 2023, while no official statements on this matter have yet been received.
