The Australian office of Toyota has announced the imminent update of the fifth generation RAV4 crossover. The model, which has been produced since 2018 (it only reached Ukraine in 2019), will undergo a slight facelift: upgraded LED headlights and foglights, as well as a new design of rims, have been announced, although the press service has not published a single image of the restyled car. The facelifted Toyota RAV4 is expected to arrive in Australia in early 2022.
Updates are promised for both the petrol modification of the RAV4 and the hybrid: both will get LED headlights of a new design, and for the Cruiser, electrically adjustable front seats in eight directions and three-stage ventilation of the driver’s and front passenger seats will become available. In addition, new rims and a Start / Stop system will be offered for the gasoline version. For entry-level equipment, a digital rearview mirror and illuminated door buttons are announced.
A special version of the RAV4 Edge is available in the Australian market with a different front end. Such a crossover with an update will receive an obstacle detection system when reversing in combination with automatic braking.
In Australia, the Japanese crossover is in high demand: in May, sales of the model in the country increased by 71.2 percent, to 4014 units. The RAV4 is one of the top three bestsellers in the local market, behind only the Toyota Hilux pickup (4402 cars sold) and the Ford Ranger (4254 cars sold).
The production of the updated Toyota RAV4 will be launched in December 2021, and dealers will receive crossovers in early 2022.
There is no information about the update of the Ukrainian Toyota RAV4 yet. The current fifth generation model has been on sale in the country since 2019 and, as of the end of June 2021, starts at $ 25,800.
