Toyota again became the most expensive automaker in the world and took first place in the BrandZ Top 100 analysis Agency Millward Brown. The brand was estimated at 28,388 billion dollars. The American finished fourth, ahead of Ford, Honda and Audi.
The leader of the BrandZ Top 100 Toyota becomes the eighth time in a row – in 2012 the company lost the BMW, but in 2013 we were able to slightly pull ahead. This year, the Japanese have reaffirmed the status of the most expensive producer, ahead of not only BMW (20,517 billion and minus 12 per cent), and Mercedes-Benz (21,349 billion and minus nine percent). Tesla, which was first included in the ranking four years ago, with the result 11,350 billion dollars (+22%) occupies the fourth position.
The electric car was more expensive than Ford and Honda. These companies are estimated at 10,067 and 9,974 billion dollars, i.e. compared to the previous year their value fell by 10 percent and 15 percent, respectively.
Among other participants of the Top 10: Nissan (8,658 billion), Audi (7,334), Volkswagen (6,462) and Porsche (5,606). The strongest of them fell Nissan – just 18 percent. This is mainly due to the judicial proceedings against Carlos Ghosn, but the pandemic COVID-19 also contributed.
Earlier it became known that the capitalization of Tesla has reached $ 190 billion, making it the most expensive car company in the world. For comparison, the capitalization of Toyota, which ranked second, is 182 billion dollars, and Volkswagen $ 75 billion, reports Bloomberg.
