Presentation of the compact van of the Japanese brand took place in Thailand.
The new generation Toyota Hiace, introduced in the Philippines in February this year. This vehicle is based on its own platform with longitudinal power unit.
At the end of may 2019, the Toyota announced the so-called “luxury” version of this car called Granvia for Australia. A minivan with that name existed until 2002, after which it was replaced by Alphard. The Australian market does not yet went out, the start of sales is scheduled for the fourth quarter of this year. Yet Toyota has decided to present the expensive execution of his Hiace in Thailand. However, the name is different, Majesty.
Toyota Majesty is based on the most compact variant of the Hiace minibus. “Rich” version differs from the standard model due to the different design of appearance: so, the novelty was decorated with chrome elements, other bumpers and grille, supplied led optics and tires with a reduced profile. The tailgate mounted additional sections of lights.
The interior of a compact minivan Majesty also has some differences from the “base” car. The novelty ten seats in four rows. The materials for finishing this version more expensive – leather and wood, floor shaggy covering. In addition, the cabin is fitted with nine airbags, including “curtains” across the entire length of the car. Most comfortable will be the passengers of the second row – independent from each other seats electrically adjustable, armrests on both sides, support legs, table, Cup holders and USB ports.
Vehicle Toyota Majesty includes: multimedia system, climate control, adaptive cruise control, system of automatic braking with detection of pedestrians and cyclists. From the “normal” model Hiace luxury performance features box-spring rear suspension that replaced the leaf spring.
Thai expensive version will be offered with four-cylinder turbodiesel series 1GD-FTV volume 2,8 L. Its maximum power output is 163 HP and a torque of 420 Nm (this is the same motor as that of the regular Hiace). This engine is paired with a six-speed “automatic”. In contrast, by the way, from the standard versions of the van offered only with 6МКП.
Note, “rich” version of the Hiace does not have to displace Alphard. In Thailand, buying a Majesty will cost 1.8 million – 2 million baht, equivalent to about 58 – 65 thousand dollars at the current rate.
