Toyota will develop a completely new crossover, designed primarily for the American market. The car will be produced together with Mazda plant in Alabama, which is now under construction and will be launched in 2021. About it reports a press-service of the Japanese brand.
This plant was originally conceived as a platform, on a conveyor which will be a model Corolla, but the Japanese changed their plans.
“This is a reaction to the changing demands of the market and the growing demand for pick-UPS and crossovers, sales of which have reached record highs”, – stated in the message.
About the new SUV while details are not given – we only know that it will be developed “from scratch” car. It will join models of the CH-R, RAV4, Highlander, 4Runner, Sequoia and Land Cruiser.
Reports that Toyota is preparing a new crossover appeared before.
