Police of the American state of Michigan will test new patrol cars based on the Ford Mustang Mach-E electric crossovers. The first phase of tests will take place from 18 to 20 September 2021.
Ford notes that the global demand for service electric vehicles is growing every day. The automaker notes that the Mustang Mach-E, in terms of its functionality, meets most of the requirements of the police service, and also has excellent dynamic characteristics.
At the same time, the exterior car shown in the photographs differs from the “civilian” version only by its characteristic coloring with the inscription “Police” – the car does not have flashing beacons and other equipment. Pictures of the interior have also not been published, so it is not known whether the crossover has a radio station, additional displays and other special equipment.
Ford Mustang Mach-E in the top-end GT Performance Edition is equipped with an electric power plant, which develops 480 hp at its peak. and 860 newton meters. The crossover can accelerate from standstill to 60 mph (96 km / h) in 3.5 seconds. The 88 kWh battery allows you to drive up to 375 kilometers on a single charge.
