The rally driver and the German premium brand will work together to develop electric vehicles and their technology.
Less than a year ago, Ken Block ended his relationship with longtime Ford partner. And so he signed a contract with Audi. In his statement, Ken Block said:
“Audi is the brand that sparked my passion for motorsport. I am very happy to start this new chapter. Together we will develop innovative projects and push the boundaries of e-mobility. ”
Ken visited Audi headquarters and drove the Audi Sport Quattro S1, Audi V8 Quattro DTM and Audi e-tron Vision Gran Turismo.
“It’s also about performance,” said Ken Block. “I like everything that makes me go faster. Electric cars can do this. As far as sound goes, my kids don’t give a damn. They think the sound of electric cars is as cool as the sound of an internal combustion engine. ”
So far, Audi and Ken Block have not disclosed any details about the collaboration, but if a Hoonigan man, a racer and a speed lover is involved in something, there will be something interesting.
“Electrification is a game changer, as the Quattro all-wheel drive once did,” said Julius Seebach, Managing Director of Audi Sport.
“With Ken Block we have common interests that fit perfectly with our strategy”
