Bentley Design Services worked side-by-side with designers from Dutch firm Contest Yachts to ensure that an unnamed customer received a pair of two-door Bentley Continental GT V8 and 18m Contest 59 CS, each styled in the same style both outside and inside. This applies to identical colors, materials, texture of stitching, wood decor.
The coupe uses a 4.0 twin-turbo-eight with 550 hp. and 770 Nm, and the yacht has a 102 m2 sail and an auxiliary 150 hp Volvo Penta engine.
Hotspur red leather is juxtaposed with beige Linen, while the Light Sapphire body color matches the dark blue hull of the yacht.
The yacht’s interiors are designed in the same colors as the car’s interior. Bentley craftsmen presented the yacht with their signature diamond-in-diamond hand embroidery (712 stitches per diamond), which repeats the decor in the two-door.
The partners in this one-time project were satisfied with the intersection of different elements. They considered the design of the compartment in terms of elaboration and craftsmanship worthy of expensive yachts, and the design of the yacht was the embodiment of the client’s dream into reality. Note that the idea of stylistic intersection of the worlds of yachts (boats) and cars is far from new. You can recall such Rolls-Royces Waterspeed Collection, Sweptail and Boat Tail, Mercedes-AMG G-Yachting. And Bentley has had a similar experience with the special edition Galene. The Pearl of the Gulf project can also be attributed to the marine theme.
