Yamaha could have ignored the development of the Yamaha YZ250, but the manufacturer made several improvements to the 2022 model.

Yamaha engineers haven’t forgotten about the rear brake. Rear disc redesigned, diameter reduced by 5 mm to 240 mm. The new disc is lighter. Consequently, the unsprung weight is reduced.

A new rear sprocket and chain have been installed, which are overall lighter. Due to the above changes, Yamaha engineers have changed the suspension settings.

The engine has received a significant boost thanks to a redesigned intake system. The air flow has become more efficient, which is especially noticeable at high revs.

The motorcycle has new fenders, radiator shrouds and racing decals, as well as a saddle. The final touch is a new color scheme.
