The prototype of the updated Ford Fiesta was spotted at the manufacturer’s Belgian test center with a minimum of camouflage.
Earlier, we wrote about testing the updated Ford Focus, as photo spies in the same place, next to the Ford test center in Belgium, photographed the updated junior model. The Ford Fiesta, like many other budget models, has already faced problems with a shortage of electronic components. However, this does not prevent the compact hatchback from remaining popular in Europe, where crossovers are rapidly gaining popularity.
The seventh generation Fiesta introduced in 2017 is now in the middle of its life cycle, so updating the model for 2022 is a logical and predictable step for the automaker. Photo spies caught the prototype with almost no camouflage. In front, even through camouflage, it is clear what changes the restyled model will receive. At the back, it looks like the whole intrigue comes down to the taillights.
The photographed car is probably a hybrid with an ST-Line body kit. The styling of the ST-Line is similar to the more powerful ST models, but without the extra power. The hybrid powertrain is a “mild hybrid” based on the 1-liter Ecoboost. The power plant is available in 2 versions: 125 and 155 “horses”.
Ford will probably officially unveil the updated Fiesta in the near future.
