The four-door, known under the names KIA K3, Cerato and Forte, has undergone the first facelift in the fourth generation BD (2018). The look has become “futuristic and sporty” thanks to the “three-dimensional effects”, and the interior is “more luxurious and younger”. Technical modernization was limited to expanding the range of equipment in the cabin and increasing safety.
The exterior features new LED headlights with dotted running lights (like the KIA EV6 electric car), lights, a tiger nose grille, both bumpers and a mineral blue body color (pictured).
The dimensions of the “ka-third” are most likely the same: 4655x1800x1440 mm, between the axles 2700. There are now more collision avoidance systems (they have learned to recognize cyclists). Introduced “intelligent cruise control based on navigation” and software updates “by air”.
The instrument cluster is “redrawn”. The diagonal of the central display has grown from eight to 10.25 inches. The keyboard under the screen has disappeared. The multi-wheel is the same, but with a new logo. An electronic parking brake has appeared. The orange-brown trim is also new.
In South Korea, the K3 sedan will continue to be equipped with a gasoline aspirated Smartstream G 1.6 (123 hp, 154 Nm), a Smartstream IVT variator and front-wheel drive. Prices will remain at the current level of 17.9-21.8 million won (16,000-19,500 dollars). Sales of the updated cars will start during April.
