Updated Lexus ES got an off-road version?

Toyota Racing Development has just unveiled a number of special parts for the Lexus ES that are only available in Japan.

There is a new lip at the front of the sedan that adds extra aggression to the luxury sedan and is complemented by flared side skirts and a rear diffuser. These three parts are available painted or unpainted. They not only change the look of the ES, but are also designed to improve aerodynamics.

Also, buyers will find unique exterior mirror covers, which also play an aerodynamic role, and a bespoke rear bumper. Two different wheel designs are also available: 20 “forged wheels and smaller 19” forged wheels with a dark gray finish.

TRD also made some less obvious changes. For example, there are many new struts that can be added to increase vehicle rigidity. Some subtle changes have been made to the interior, including a new panel on the doors.

All of these parts were developed for the 2022 Lexus ES, which was unveiled back in April. The updated model now comes standard with an 8.0-inch infotainment touchscreen and is also available with a larger 12.3-inch display. Regardless of size, both are now comfortable to touch and have been moved 109mm forward for easy access.
