In the next two years, the Mazda CX-5 crossover will change its generation, having gone through dramatic changes compared to its predecessor. However, the planned update isn’t going anywhere. His time is right in China. The first photos have appeared on the web showing what the 2022 Mazda CX-5 will look like. It is possible that a similar update in the near future awaits then crossover of the second generation.
Judging by the pictures posted on the Internet, the update can be called a facelift rather than a full-fledged restyling.
The crossover will slightly change externally, having received a modernized front bumper, a visually slightly more compact radiator grille, as well as a revised head optics filling.
The stern will change even less – in this part, you can see lights that are slightly different in shape than that of the current crossover, as well as a redesigned bumper.
What changes with the update will survive the interior of the crossover remains a mystery. Nothing is known about the technical part yet, but most likely it will remain untouched.
Recall that with the coming generational change, the Mazda CX-5 should move to a new Large Architecture platform, which will lead to a complete “shake-up” of power units, the line of which will consist of new inline six-cylinder petrol and diesel engines. The crossover will be located in the mid-size segment and move to the premium class, where it will compete with the Audi Q5, BMW X3, Mercedes-Benz GLC, Range Rover Velar and others.
