Toyota is preparing a serious rival for the Korean minivan KIA Carnival. The Japanese are planning to present the new Toyota Sienna at an auto show in Chengdu, China. The exhibition will run from August 27 to September 5.
It became known that the updated Toyota Sienna minivan will be completely declassified at the end of August: the novelty will take its rightful place at the brand’s stand at the Chengdu Motor Show. The novelty will get a 246-horsepower hybrid based on a 2.5-liter gasoline engine and a pair of electric motors.
And the updated minivan will receive an E-Four all-wheel drive system, and four driving modes depending on the terrain and conditions. If you need to increase the range, Eco will do, but in Sport mode you can get a short boost in power.
The new product will be available in five modifications. The interior of the minivan is decorated in the style of premium Lexus models. So, for example, the interior of Toyota Sienna was decorated with wooden inserts. Already in the “base”, the minivan receives multimedia with a nine-inch touchscreen, which supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
And the new product also has a package of options Toyota Safety Sense 2.0. This includes advanced driver assistants such as lane control and traffic sign recognition and more.
After the upgrade, Sienna will try on a completely different design with an enlarged grille and graceful head optics. Large 20-inch alloy wheels give the minivan more sportiness. There is no information about prices yet. Looking forward to debut in China.
Meanwhile, it became known that the Chinese company Nio wants to produce cheap electric cars. It will create a separate sub-brand for it.
