As the premiere platform for refreshed SUV chose Thailand, where the model will be presented next week. The cross has not only changed externally but also got a new installation.
Compact crossover the Nissan Kicks debuted in 2016, its market career began with Brazil, the SUV appeared in many other countries, including China and the United States. And only four years after the premiere of the cross made it to Thailand, but there the model will be offered immediately in the updated form. This cross had caught photospin, however, the local arm of the brand is confined to the publication of several teasers, the full presentation is scheduled for may 15.
Importantly, the crossover has got a hybrid setup e-Power, known by the Nissan Note compact and the Serena minivan: gasoline motor is not connected to the wheels, it only works as a generator of electricity, the wheel also rotates the motor. Characteristics of the hybrid Kicks have not been revealed. In Japan Note e-Power, for example, include “aspirated” HR12DE 1.2 capacity of 79 HP (103 Nm) and an electric motor EM57 with a peak output of 109 BHP (254 Nm). In addition, a hybrid Note at home have all-wheel drive version with the N2 electric motor on the rear axle (4,8 HP, 15 Nm). But whether the variant with two electric motors Kicks from e-Power is still unknown, there is no data whether the Thai SUV option only with internal combustion engines.
In North and South America pre-reform Kiks is offered with a gasoline engine 1.6 family HR (114-125 HP depending on the market), in China, the model is available with the 125-strong “aspirated” 1.5 (also HR series). All-wheel drive “traditional” SUV is not allowed.
As for design, the Kicks completely redesigned front part, the SUV has received a new bumper with “gills” (is built-in lights), narrower headlamps and a massive grille. The lights still form, but the stuffing could be replaced. The interior is not marred. It is not excluded that inside there were other “tidy” and multimedia system.
Later hybrid Nissan Kicks with a new design needs to reach many other countries, waiting for him in particular, and in Japan, where the cross supposedly will replace the Juke first-generation (“second” Juke in the homeland of Nissan, according to preliminary data, do not plan to sell).
We will remind, the Indian SUV different from global: it is based on the B0 platform, while the “global” cross built on the “cart” V. So in India the design of the model did not change the hybrid setting it is also not inherited, but the Indian Kicks got a new petrol “turboservice” 1.3 as Renault Arkana.
