BMW is preparing an updated 3-Series family. Test vehicles were spotted on the roads of Germany by photo spies from Motor1.
The updated sedan was partially disguised in places where serious external adjustments took place. However, judging by the general appearance, it might seem that the car now looks more like Mercedes products. This is evidenced by the narrower LED optics with daytime running lights. Of course, the bumper will undergo changes, it will receive a new air intake and a different pattern.
The stern section will have many intersections with the current family. But the most global changes are expected in the interior. This primarily concerns the large curved display of the multimedia system, which is expected to be taken from the iX electric crossover. In addition, many decorative elements are expected in the salon, which will emphasize the individuality of the owner.
The lineup will include the same petrol and petrol-electric versions, which are also relevant for the current family. However, the big news is that a purely electric version will also debut with the restyling. It is possible that the components and assemblies for it will be taken from the iX SUV. Recall that it has one electric motor on the rear axle, which produces 282 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque.
It’s not so long to wait for the restyling of the popular model, the debut will take place in the first months of next year, and it will go on sale towards the end of the second quarter of 2022.
