Updated Yamaha MT-07 noticed on tests

In Europe, it was discovered motorcycle MT-07 wrapped in black masking tape. At first glance, the mule looks almost identical to the current MT, except for a few details.

Due to the fact that the emissions standard of Euro 5 comes into force since January, 2021, manufacturers of motorcycles are forced to upgrade their products. And Yamaha does not remain on the sidelines. It is assumed that the captured fotosporno prototype testing new exhaust system, and perhaps even a new engine. Despite the fact that on the outside it looks almost exactly like the actual unit volume of 689 cm3, it is well visible the new exhaust system “two in one” with a new canister.

And these updates may be enough for the MT-07 to meet the new standards. But some sources say that the engine itself can also hide something new, for example, re-patented technology of variable valve timing. VVT is a popular system that is developed by many manufacturers to meet increasingly strict emissions standards.

However, this mule turbo is not visible, although in a recent patent application has been described two-cylinder engine with a turbocharger to reduce fuel consumption and harmful emissions. The bike looks in the early stages of tests, as visible signs of exposed wiring and stripped-down chassis. Given the state of this test prototype Yamaha MT-07, it is easy to assume that in 2019 it will hardly show. Most likely this will happen only in 2020, in order to adjust the output of the model to the chart, that is by 2021.
