KIA has unveiled a concept version of the Soul EV Boardmasters Edition electric crossover. The car was named after the UK Surfing and Music Festival.
The experimental version differs from the standard car by an upgraded suspension with a significantly increased ground clearance, which became 310 mm in the front axle area, and 320 mm in the rear axle area. In addition, the car received 16-inch special wheels with 30-inch mud tires for driving on sand.
Additional LED spotlights were installed on the roof, a trunk for transporting two Tahe Bic Malibu boards, and a solar battery that powers a small refrigerator in the cabin. The equipment also includes a carrier for surfing clothes, a wooden bench and a Harman / Kardon sound system.
KIA Soul EV Boardmasters Edition was equipped with an electric motor that develops 204 hp. and 395 Nm of torque. The engine is powered by a set of 64 kWh lithium-ion batteries, which can drive up to 450 kilometers without recharging.
Earlier it became known that KIA is testing the updated Soul, which was seen on one of the roads in South Korea. The exterior of the crossover is hidden by a dense layer of camouflage, but it can be assumed that as part of the restyling KIA Soul will receive modernized bumpers, a modified radiator grille and optics with different graphics. The cabin is expected to have a new multimedia complex with a touchscreen enlarged to 10.25 inches, as well as a virtual instrument panel.
