American designer John Sibal posted on his Facebook page renderings of a still defunct sports car: a modern take on the classic Mercedes-Benz 300 SL.
The S-Klub company will make this project a reality, for which it will not be the first restomod “on a given theme”. Designer John Sibal said that the main difference between the projected sports car will be the original hard roof: the restomod will be developed as a roadster, but equipped with a removable top. According to him, at the moment the specialists of the S-Klub company are just busy with the development of the specified component.
In general, the non-existent sports car is distinguished by a silhouette in the style of post-war sports cars with an elongated rear section, wide track, exhaust pipes brought out in front of the capsule of the cabin, as well as original, very compact doors. The question of how the scheme of their opening will be implemented, rendered images do not give an answer.
There is also no information about which car will act as the basis for the development of the restomod. S-Klub’s previous project, the 300 SL Speedster, was based on the production version of the Mercedes-Benz SLK roadster in the AMG 32 version with a 3.2-liter V6 compressor engine.
