Volkswagen Arteon could not get a higher rating IIHS

The car manufacturers are paying special attention to the safety of products, as each year the requirements are becoming tougher, and pass crash tests – increasingly difficult.

The insurance Institute for highway safety (IIHS) has tested the Volkswagen Arteon 2019 model year. The five-door liftback shown excellent results in six categories of crash tests, but to receive the award Top Safety Pick failed because of an led headlamp, according to Carscoops.

In particular, the experts gave Arteon IIHS rated “good” for protecting the driver and passengers during frontal and side impacts, the strength of the headrests and roof, as well as the prevention of collisions at speeds of 19 and 40 km/h.

However, car led headlights have been assessed as “bad”. What the IIHS rejected all three versions of headlights, which are available at Arteon. The bad rating was justified by the excessive glare and lack of function of the maintenance beam. That is, spotlight can’t provide a sufficient level of visibility in the dark.
