Volkswagen has patented the name for the new crossovers

Next year will be eventful for the main Volkswagen brand, as Wolfsburg will be released 34 new models, including many crossovers and SUVs.

We will remind that earlier German automaker has announced the release of 34 new and updated models, among which 10 crossovers and SUVs, including the already announced Nivus, which will go on sale in the second quarter of the year in Brazil, and then travel to Europe in 2021. But in the database of the German Patent office was discovered and a new application for registration of trade name.

The first of them – “T-Sport”. Probably it will be used for the crossover, as the name corresponds to the nomenclature used by T-Cross and T-Roc. Earlier it was reported that the above-mentioned Nivus is called “T-Sport” before Volkswagen will announce a trade name new, so it will be interesting to see which model will carry the name. Maybe the European version Nivus will be called “T-Sport”.

Further in the patent is the name “T-Coupe”, which, most likely, will be used to kupeobrazny version of one of the existing models.

As for the T-Go, we have a feeling that this will be the entry-level CUV from VW, perhaps the production version of the concept Taigun.

We expect that the ubiquitous MQB platform will form the basis for most of these new models because the generic architecture has been developed for vehicles, such as compact Polo and such as a seven-seater SMV in China.
