The German automaker has shared information about the plans of its plant in the German Admini. Today it produces models of the Passat and Arteon.
German company Volkswagen has shared production plans for its new electric crossover ID.4. Cars will be assembled at the plant in the German Admine where established models Passsat and Arteon. The re-production has already begun – it is expected that the first ID.4 will descend from the conveyor already in the beginning of 2022. As for the models Arteon and Passat, the first time they will continue to gather this plant, and after the change of generations, their production will transfer to the Slovak capital, Bratislava.
After the full launch of the enterprise will produce 300 thousand electric cars a year. To do this, there will be an additional Assembly site exclusively for electric vehicles with an area of 50 thousand square meters, and the body shop will expand to the 23 thousand square meters. To optimize production, the company decided to make a separate shop for two-tone paint finishes, which will be available for Volkswagen ID.4. Total investment in the modernization of the plant will be about 1 billion euros.
However, in the management of the company believe that the model ID.4 will immediately gain popularity and all investments will pay off quickly.
Meanwhile, in Europe there is the opportunity to pre-order the new Volkswagen Tiguan. In the first phase will be available in three versions, after which their number will be expanded.
