Volkswagen ID. BUZZ aims to become the first unmanned vehicle of the German concern. The prototype of the novelty has already been taken to road tests in Germany.
Premiere of electric car ID. BUZZ is expected only next year. Christian Senger, head of the company’s autonomous technology development department, noted in an interview that in the middle of the decade, drivers will be able to use self-driving cars for long trips, and the concern itself plans to massively sell such models as early as 2025.
As you know, Volkswagen continues to actively promote sales of electric cars in Europe, and this year it is going to transfer more than 450 thousand electric vehicles to motorists. In comparison with last year’s figures, this is twice as much.
Already at the end of this month, motorists will receive the first samples of the new model ID.4. Then the concern plans to supply cars ID.4 GTX3, ID.5 coup to China? and ID.6 X / CROZZ.
In ID. BUZZ will use an autonomous driving system developed by Argo AI, a German company has invested a billion dollars in its development. In the future, the automaker plans to launch production of robotic and autonomous taxis and vans as well.
