Volkswagen is testing a “charged” Golf GTI at the Nurburgring

On the race track nürburgring spotted a test prototype of the German hatchback VW Golf new-generation high-performance GTI. The official presentation of the car will take place next year.

Before the official presentation of the brand new generation of the popular European hatchback, a Volkswagen Golf, only a few weeks. Well, the show more powerful performance GTI probably have to wait even longer – insiders say that the production car will present next year. It is reported that the design of this car will be evolutionary, like the plug-in hybrid VW Golf GTE performance in the picture without any of the camouflage we published last week.

Of course, the “loaded” performance Grand Tourer Injection will get more aggressive exterior thanks to a sports aerodynamic weather-cloth, wheel disks of a larger size and a pair of huge exhaust pipes.

Spotted at nürburgring race track, the prototype of the new Golf GTI was completely covered with camouflage. The machine is undergoing high-speed testing and I must say that the new product looks very confident when taking corners at high speed.

The new GTI will not be electrified. There were rumors that VW wants to produce plug-in hybrid version of the Golf GTI, but no, this will not be exact. Under the hood of the production car will be the familiar 2.0 TSI petrol turbo with just over 250 horses in the base version. More powerful performance of the GTI Performance can get almost 290 HP as the transmission will be offered a 6-speed “mechanics” or 7-speed automatic transmission with double clutch.
