Volkswagen Taigun crossover enters the Indian market

The prices of the new Volkswagen Taigun in the Indian market have become known. Later, the cross may appear on other car markets.

Taigun is based on the scalable MQB-A0-IN platform – an upgraded version of the MQB-A0 for the “junior” Volkswagen models. Length – 4221 millimeters (mm), width – 1760 mm, height – 1612 mm, wheelbase – 2651 mm. Ground clearance – 180 mm.

The engine range is a 1.0-liter TSI turbocharged petrol unit with 115 horsepower (178 Nm) and a 1.5-liter TSI Evo turbo engine with 150 horsepower (250 Nm). Both units are combined with a 6-speed manual transmission, the 1.0-liter engine still has a 6-speed automatic transmission, and the 1.5-liter TSI has a 7-speed DSG. Front-wheel drive.

The basic version of the Comfortline features LED DRLs, 16-inch wheels, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, air conditioning, a pair of airbags, ESC and rear parking sensors.

The Highline version introduces a multimedia system with a 10-inch screen, a rear-view camera, an air conditioner with a touch control unit and wireless charging for gadgets.

Topline version includes LED headlights, wheels (17 inches), side airbags and curtain airbags, virtual instrument panel, rain sensors, sunroof, keyless entry system, engine start button, cruise control.

The price tag of the Volkswagen Taigun (1.0 liter TSI) is from 1,049,900 to 1,590,900 rupees (approximately from 14,200 to 21,600 dollars at the current exchange rate). For the cross (1.5 liters TSI) – from 1,499,900 to 1,749,900 rupees (approximately from 20,400 to 23,700 dollars at the current exchange rate).
