The reason was the failure of the auto-brake system. Under revocable campaign will get new cars.
Volvo plans to test 736 430 their cars for incorrect operation of the system of Autonomous emergency braking. To do this, these machines need to be sent to owners in official service centers of the Swedish company. Most of the cars were sold in Sweden, but the 56 368 is in the UK. Initially, the fault was seen on the XC60.
The tests were carried out by the Danish road on FDM in late 2019. The tests as an obstacle was made by the special pillow, but the emergency braking system is not activated and the vehicle did not reduce speed. Then the model was sent to the headquarters of the Swedish company to determine the causes.
In the result, it became known that the same fault is possible not only on the models XC60, but also on V90, S90, V60, and XC90 XC40, which was made after 21 January 2019.
The studies were able to identify fault – it is associated with the software sensor, which should start the system of automatic braking. For an update of the car owners will be asked to come to the service centers for work. All work will be performed free of charge. Moreover, the representatives of Volvo noted that the classical brake system malfunction has no effect.
