In April of this year, Audi rolled out a show car with the uncomplicated name Audi concept Shanghai onto its podium at the Shanghai Motor Show without much fuss. It is possible that this was just a model without a finished salon, but now we have evidence that a similar model is already on its way to production.
It will be addressed to the Chinese market, but a camouflaged prototype was caught by our photo spies in Germany. The novelty was captured not only from the outside, but also from the inside: you can see the seats, steering wheel, dashboard, large display on the center console. In general, the interior of the test car is similar to the Audi Q4 e-tron.
According to preliminary data, the unnamed Audi model will become an analogue of the Volkswagen ID.6, a three-row electric crossover, different versions of which are produced at two factories in the Celestial Empire together with SAIC and FAW. He will receive the same MEB platform and similar power plants. In length, this new SUV is only slightly inferior to the title Audi e-tron, while it should become noticeably more affordable than the latter.
The aforementioned ID.6 can be rear-wheel or all-wheel drive, with one or two electric motors. Power varies from 180 to 306 hp, the capacity of the available batteries is 58 and 77 kilowatt-hours – according to the outdated NEDC cycle, this should be enough for 436 and 588 kilometers. A premium sibling from Four Rings is expected next year.
Earlier, Audi expanded the Q4 e-tron and Q4 Sportback e-tron family of electric crossovers, also based on the MEB architecture, with two new versions for the European market.
