A few days after SEAT introduced the Ibiza facelift, Volkswagen is gearing up to introduce a mechanically linked Polo with an interim update.
The premiere display of the German novelty without camouflage is scheduled for Thursday, April 22. To whet the interest of the model, an official teaser was posted on the Web. The subcompact hatchback features a vibrant purple paint job and redesigned LED headlights.
Concern VW showed in the teaser photo a light panel built into the front grille. The big brother of the VW Golf Mk8 already has a similar setup. It is used to create a visual connection between the LED daytime running lights, which also have a separate boomerang pattern at the corners of the headlights.
The teaser does not reveal any details regarding the technical characteristics. Expect both the Polo GTI and the lesser-known TGI to debut on Thursday with its economical CNG powertrain.
I wonder if the Polo gets a tablet-style infotainment system. For its appearance in the concept, it was necessary to move the vents lower on the center console. It is likely that the German supermini will keep the original layout and only make the screen a little larger.
Read also that Volkswagen has presented on the teaser a sports version of the ID.4 GTX electric car. The concern has confirmed that it will present the model in Europe on April 28.
