Volkswagen has unveiled the ID.5 GTX electric coupe-crossover at the Munich International Motor Show. The novelty debuted as a disguised concept car.
As the press service of the company clarifies, the ID.5 GTX model, which is the second representative of the GTX sports line, will be on sale in the European market next year.
The electric coupe-crossover is based on the MEB modular platform. The novelty is equipped with an all-wheel drive system with two electric motors (one for each axle). A single charge of a large lithium-ion battery installed between the axles of the crossover lasts up to 497 kilometers. Thanks to the connectivity systems, the ID.5 GTX electric car gets over-the-air updates and is equipped with the Car2X system.
The exterior design of the ID.5 GTX features IQ.Light LED headlights with intelligent high beam control. The light strip, which tapers towards the Volkswagen logo, is harmoniously matched by three large illuminated honeycomb elements on the driver and passenger sides.
The heavily angled A-pillars, which are offset towards the front of the vehicle, give rise to a smooth roofline that tapers towards the integrated rear spoiler.
The abbreviation GTX is used to denote a new line of powerful electric vehicles from the Volkswagen brand. It continues the tradition of the successful GTI, GTD and GTE models, but only in the field of electric mobility.
