VW is preparing for the debut of the ID.5 GTX

The Volkswagen Group’s electric mid-range SUVs have something special: they all have or will have a coupe version. The Audi Q4 e-tron already has it in the form of the Q4 e-tron Sportback, the Skoda enyaq gets the enyaq Coupe, and at Volkswagen the ID.4 joins the ID.5. The latter is about to open up to the world.

November 3, 2021, next Wednesday, Volkswagen will remove the curtain from the ID.5 GTX. The car that awaits us is preparing very few surprises, at least in terms of appearance. After all, we have seen the ID.5 GTX on several occasions with a camouflage print that barely hides it. Take a Volkswagen ID.4, remove the back of the roof and voila: you get ID.5. The published teaser adds nothing in this regard. The biggest news is the ID.5 opening date, which is a little closer than we originally thought.

Volkswagen is talking specifically about the ID.5 GTX, which means we’ll get the sportiest ID.5 model right away. The four-wheel drive version, which, like the ID.4 GTX, has 300 hp. and a proven range of 497 km thanks to the 77 kWh battery. It is questionable whether ID.5 will always be offered in this version of GTX, or if simpler versions will be available.
