The network has released the first official teaser of the new compact crossover from Volkswagen, called Taigun. It is expected that the model will be more budget-friendly than the Korean Hyundai Creta.
The novelty was developed specifically for the Indian market, so the automaker sought to make the model as affordable as possible.
Judging by the teaser, the production version of the crossover almost completely “copies” the prototype that debuted in February at Auto Expo 2020. The new Volkswagen Taigun will get a large head optics with led technology and an original narrowed radiator grille, inside which curving stripes flaunt. Also in the appearance of the car, an unusual front bumper attracts attention, in which a large air intake is integrated. The rear bumper is decorated with a metal plate with a plastic insert.
The company noted that as a power plant will be offered two units to choose from. The most affordable will be a 1.0-liter engine with a capacity of 110 HP. More expensive versions rely on a supercharged 1.5-liter unit that develops 150 HP of power. And if the first power plant relies on a manual transmission or a classic “automatic”, then the second will use the traditional Volkswagen 7-band DSG “robot”.
