The Tesla brand reported on the results of work in the first quarter of 2021: impressive growth was recorded in key indicators. Meanwhile, the head of the company Elon Musk has revealed the timing of the start of deliveries of new versions of the flagship electric vehicles Model S and Model X.
Thus, Tesla’s revenue for the reporting period amounted to $ 10.39 billion, 74% more than in the same period in 2020, when this figure was $ 5.99 billion.
Net profit in the first quarter of this year reached $ 438 million, or 39 cents per share – a record result for the first quarter. For comparison: a year earlier Tesla earned $ 16 million, or 2 cents per share.
In the first three months of 2021, 180,338 electric vehicles were produced. And they were all Model 3 and Model Y. Production of the Model S and Model X was discontinued, but 2,030 of the Model S and Model X previously released were delivered to customers. The buyers delivered 182,847 units of Model 3 and Model Y electric vehicles, that is, the company shipped 184,877 electric vehicles in total. This indicator in annual terms increased by 109%.
In addition, on the eve of the head of Tesla Elon Musk said that in May Tesla will begin shipping a new version of the Model S sedan. And deliveries of the updated Model X crossover are planned to begin in the third quarter of this year.
