Nissan has revealed details of the testing the Ariya was subjected to prior to its launch in the European market. As a result of a series of tests that were carried out at a training ground on the island of Hokkaido in Japan, the automaker settled on four modifications of the electric car, which will be offered to Europeans.
There are different sections on the test site: for example, in some places the track is a winding tarmac highway, in others it simulates highways and mountain roads common in a number of European countries. The Nissan Ariya, under the supervision of a team of Nissan engineers from Europe and Japan, was tested on a number of parameters: how the car behaves during acceleration, how it handles on tight bends and how effective is the soundproofing of the cabin. The comfort while driving an electric car was assessed separately.
As a result, Nissan adapted the model to the basic needs of the European market, leaving four versions in the Ariya line: with batteries with a capacity of 63 or 87 kilowatt-hours, one or two electric motors (on the front and rear axles). Depending on the modification, the range of the electric car varies from 360 to 500 kilometers according to the WLTP cycle.
Earlier it was reported that the main markets for the Nissan Ariya will be Japan, Europe, the United States and China, where the electric car will compete with the Tesla Model Y.
