Toyota Motor has unveiled a commercial version of the Yaris hatchback for Europe called ECOVan. The novelty is intended for transportation of small loads, and its main feature is a hybrid power plant, which is a unique offer in the class.
In Europe, vans based on class B and C cars are in steady demand. The conversion of Yaris into Yaris ECOVan will not be carried out by a factory in France, but by individual dealers of the brand in Europe.
Yaris ECOVan from ten meters can be confused with a regular passenger hatch: it retains the glass in the rear of the body. The second row of seats was removed from the cabin, and a mesh partition appeared behind the first. Equipped with a flat rubber floor.
The volume of the cargo compartment is 720 liters, the length is 1243 mm, the width at the narrowest part is 867 mm. The declared load capacity is 430 kilograms.
The compact van is equipped with a THS II hybrid installation based on a 1.5-liter internal combustion engine and an electric motor. The total power of the tandem is 116 hp. It is assumed that buyers will appreciate the benefits not only in terms of fuel consumption, but also in terms of tax: in Europe, such equipment is subject to preferences.
The basic package cannot be called empty. It includes an advanced Toyota Safety Sense safety complex, climate control, a rain sensor, a media system with a seven-inch touchscreen and support for Android Auto / Apple CarPlay, foglights and 15-inch wheels.
Sales of Toyota Yaris ECOVan have already started, the car costs at least 22,050 euros.
